Instagram Youth over 18 can join our regular volunteer program. Our Youth program is for those under 18. Due to federal law, those under 18 cannot care for native birds, but you can assist with care for younger squirrels and opossums, pigeons, and select birds. Other duties are food prep, laundry, dishes, cage cleaning, gardening, landscaping, and repair work. Those volunteers aged 12-15 need to come with a supervising adult who takes the same training and volunteers at the same time as you. Once you are 16, you can be dropped off.
